Jenny Elliott (Humberstone) is an inter-disciplinary designer based in Scotland.  Jenny engages in a range of urban design, research and photography work. In particular her work relates to place, community and participatory approaches to urban design.

As an interdisciplinary Designer I have been excited to work on a variety of projects in recent years, from urban design and temporary creative events activating unusual city spaces, to digital, web and graphic design, photography and illustration.

Particular highlights have included my work with HERE+NOW where I am co-Director. This work involves a mix of research, urban design and participatory exhibitions and events. For example our Connection to Place exhibition at Tent Gallery and at the The Biscuit Factory, and film screenings as part of Hidden Door Festival, Edinburgh. I also recently explored the visual and auditory aspects relating to how we define and create a sense of place as part of an artist residency with The Bothy Project in 2015.

Other highlights have included organisation of a series of temporary outdoor cinema events in vacant urban spaces whilst living in Australia (Urban Fabric), and now as an adapted version in Edinburgh (Byre Film Nights).

I have also enjoyed work on graphic, digital and landscape design for urban agriculture project 3000 Acres in Melbourne, and founding and progressing the Hold Me Dear place-based photography project online gallery and physical exhibitions. Other work has included logo design for a micro-brewery, branding and style guide production for an urban design firm, and web design for a number of small creative businesses.
